About
Windows Projects Community (winprj) was established in October 2007 (WPC v0 in July 2007) by Марко Кажић, Adrian Parker and Damian Groenendijk as the first Windows modifying community, due to the mixed nature of other communities, and inability of users to successfully promote their mods. Our dedicated users, Windows modders, enthusiasts, tweakers, programmers and designers have been working hard on their projects and dedicated them to customizing and improving Windows user experience. It inspired us for our v3 motto: “A bit of your soul in Windows.“
Since our very beginning, we’ve created a small group of experienced users and as we grow we tend to further expand our community.
Version 1 and 2 were relying solely on projects and so some of the most famous projects around were started, like Windows Lupus Project, Vistapack, Windows NT 4 Visual Update Project, Windows Neptune Refresh and others like Daedalus Service, StyleShifter, Nookota Project, UXTender, vUXTender, TransForce and many others. Also, a great number of skins, styles, hacks and tricks were posted through time in the community.

Another thing separated Windows Projects Community from the others. Since version 3, we’ve became active on almost all bigger social networks, so users can find us on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, вконтакте and Vimeo, as an addition to our community RSS. Since v3 the community has started posting news in the Leaking Zone, where all users can find the latest exclusive leaks. We’ve also leaked Windows Embedded Theme for Windows XP to public, and therefore enriched the family of default Windows XP styles (lolz i haz power). Statistics also show that our projects have been most successful, starting with 50,000 downloads of Windows Embedded Theme in just 1 day to the amazing 700,000 downloads of UXTender™ in just 3 months.
Further plans for Windows Projects Community are clear, as we strive towards bringing a Mobile version of our community to the users, towards organizing contests, live meetings, creating a unified FTP server, gadgets and accessories, webcasts, e-magazine, interviews and more importantly more customization. This blog is just the beginning of our expansion and improvement. Thank you for improving the community with us, and enjoy.
