I tried all of the methods, as well as the TransForce patcher and even other possible methods, and all I've got is a blue Aero (via Vista Style Builder, which my cousin happened to have bought weeks ago). I never got the transparency.

I'm doing this for a friend who bought the Home Basic edition like I did, and was displeased with the non-transparent bright-blue Aero (everything else, even the lack of the features the other editions have, is fine for him). As for my case, I'm keeping the blue Aero, since blue's my favorite.
I hope you guys have other ideas in mind.
